Silverhill Playgroup is a charity and requires a committee to run.
We meet on average around once a term and support the staff and organise fundraising. If you would like to join, please get in touch with Becky Dixon (playgroup manager).
If you have anything you would like to discuss with the committee then please do get in touch.
You don’t have to be a member to help the playgroup, you can help fundraise either independently or with the committee’s help.
We are all volunteers and do this around our other jobs and/or children.
I am a mum of three children, two boys and a girl and I first got involved with Silverhill Playgroup when my eldest child attended the playgroup in 2010. All three of my children attended the Playgroup until they left to go to school.
I joined the Committee a few years ago as I wanted to help out as much as I could and have recently taken over as Treasurer.
From leaving school I trained in a private practice accountancy firm for just over two years before I joined my current firm in 1995 as a Management Accountant.
I countinued to work as a Management Accountant until returning to the firm after the birth of my third child as I needed more flexibility.
Since 2012 I have been working as the Payroll Manager responsible for payroll system for over 160 staff.
I am a retired mother of two, grandmother of one. Our two boys attended Silverhill Playgroup many years ago.
I look after my grandson while his parents work and I also look after two boys for family friends. The older boy will be leaving playgroup to start school in September while the younger one has just started at Silverhill Playgroup.
The reason I joined the committee was as soon as I walked into the playgroup I felt at home and I wanted to become involved. My knees won’t let me get down on the floor to play with the children so joining the commitee means I can help with fundraising
